Re: Weekly Roasting Friday 22May 2020

It's a roast that can be used in an emergency at short notice. The flavour of the beans are best on the day of roast and then last about 3 days before fading.
Useful for when people turn up unexpectedly and you're low on roasted beans, or if you're like me and don't plan well for day to day drinking!

Re: Brewing Session - 15 May 2020

Hi Wayne, I did roast a few bags of decaf and Colombian for this, but everything went wrong. It was suddenly a set of panic roasts as I was roasting for 6 not 1 as I planned, and I didn't cope well. I pressed stop instead of marking first crack. I got distracted so didn't hear the next first crack. ...

Re: Cool down cycle improvements

This extra cool down works for me. I can still easily separate the screen to free the trapped beans, but without it being too hot to handle.

Re: Hint for removing inner chimney sleeve needed

The inner sleeve falls out easily when it's all hot, so I shouldn't cause any damage then. It's good to know though that that is when it's delicate.

Re: Hint for removing inner chimney sleeve needed

Hi Steve, they might save my hands when it's hot.

But I'm after a hint on removing the sleeve when it's stuck in there when it's cold.

Many thanks, Justine

Re: Bean stuck on probe

Cheers Steve, since writing my post I had it happen again, but with a bit of wiggling it came off. I'll bear your tip in mind for next time.

Many thanks, Justine

Hint for removing inner chimney sleeve needed

Hello, I usually remove the inner sleeve when the machine has just finished, a bit hot to handle but easier to remove. Occasionally I get distracted and the machine is totally cold. Then I have great difficulty easing the sleeve out. I've tried turning it upside down and gently pushing with my nails...
