Re: Fresh roast storage container tips please
I did use one-way valve coffee bags for a while and then happened upon the Airscape. So, I wouldn't stress too much about it. So many other factors come into play when making coffee.

Re: Fresh roast storage container tips please
Hi, I'm just adding Avery 937221 removable labels to the transparent lids on the Airscape containers. I record the bean, profile, roast level and roast date. I have 2 Airscape containers so that I can roast two different beans and then, blend post-roast. 3 x 100 g green beans yields about 260 g roas...

Re: Fresh roast storage container tips please
Hi Beanz, I use the smaller of Airscape containers by Planetary Design and have been happy with their build and performance. The small size is good for up to 250gm of beans. There is a one-way valve in the plunger style lid which is push down to seal the coffee and adjusts to the amount of beans rem...

Re: Second crack
Hi Chris,
I was wondering why the RoR was all over the place.
Will update the firmware.
Thanks,
Sam

Re: Second crack
Hi Damian,
Here is my log file from a my roast of 100 gm Brazil Santos.
I don't know why the RoR curve did not track the profile. It was roast no.8 in back to back roasts.
Thanks,
Sam

Live data during cool down
Hi All,
Having selected live data durin the roast, I'm finding it inconvenient that during cool down, the display is switching off live data.
Is anyone else finding this a nuisance?

Second crack
Hi All,
Can anyone hear second crack above the fan noise? I can't, am I missing something?
In the absence of an audible second crack, what are people doing to "log" second crack? What should I be looking or listening for?
Thanks,
Sam

Scorched beans
Hi All, My last roasts produce a number of scorched beans. I roasted 100gm lots of Brazil Santos using the Ninja profile to L3.0 DTR 20% and Yirgacheffe using Firestarter to L2.9 DTR 25%. Both roasts produced some scorching. Is there any understanding of what may be causing the scorched beans? What ...
