Re: Could someone check this profile for me please….
Thanks once again Steve. Will give it a run tomorrow. Your new profile sounds good.....the main reason I purchased the Nano....too have so much control yeh man! Cheers Mark Mark I have made further adjustments to your Hoo's profile, number 3 attached below. Smoothed out the curve I think that's as ...

Re: Kaldı Chaff Collector...
I am not sure Mark, they might be overkill? Have a closer look at the Kaldi fan (gmarket link) its a hamster wheel style and I guess would also be classified as centrifugal but it is driven by a motor underneath in separate housing. This means the wheel part can be taken out for cleaning etc as you ...

Re: Hint for removing inner chimney sleeve needed
I would try place it upside down on bench then grab only the outer plastic housing and gently tap in up and down on bench and it should just fall out.
As for getting it back in when cold, yes it can be a tight fit but with more use it gets easier.

Re: Bean stuck on probe
Thats good Justine, much better for it to come off that way than having to stick tools into the roasting chamber and risk damage to the probe.

Re: Hint for removing inner chimney sleeve needed
I used standard easy slip on Dewalt work gloves available from bunnings, they have a good degree of flexibility and dexterity. Not designed specifically for heat but there is enough to them to give comfortable degree of handling comfort. For example they are the kind of gloves i would use if working...

Re: Bean stuck on probe
Hey Justine I had this happen ONCE early on. Chris suggested gently pulling it off in the direction of the probe as you have done, the probe itself is really very sturdy and more susceptible to metal fatigue from bending. My bean was stuck on there really good! No amount of pulling or wiggling would...

Re: Could someone check this profile for me please….
Mark I have made some changes to your profile based on my interpretation of the converted temps you posted earlier. Basically ramps it pretty hard to colour change then there is a slow down for the colour change, followed by a reasonable gradient up to and through first crack. The Classic fan profil...

Re: Kaldı Chaff Collector...
They are quite expensive for what they are but I do not regret getting it when I got my drum, I considered making my own system at the time. It is a very neat little unit and I have smashed it pretty hard as far as use goes around 300kg green, obviously with regular maintenance and its pretty easy t...

Re: Could someone check this profile for me please….
Hey Mark have you made a file?
I dont see why it would not work.
I regularly have observed start of colour change (starting to turn yellow) on the Nano 160 - 165 with full yellow happening 168 to 172. Bean observer dependent of course and profile / fan etc.

Re: Ninja 2nd in Golden Bean comp
Excellent Mark, its a good coffee to get into manual brewing / cupping. Does not have the in your face attitude that many natural Ethiopian can have or major funk. I suggest cupping it in a small bowl 12g / 200g water just boiled, wait 3 to 4 min, stir 3 times, scoop off foam, wait another 10 min th...
