Inlet temperature safety ceiling built into firmware?
I have been doing a heap of experiments with different probe positions, bare and sheathed with the stock KL thermocouple. Even in manual mode with a fixed fan and 1100W once the temperature reading hits 242.3C limit set in the studio, the power cuts off and drops around 20C then comes back on again ...

Re: More zones ?
Sounds great.
Current thinking even just one more would do the job in most cases and anymore than 5 would be overkill.

Re: 1200m Rest L2.4 vs K-Logic L2.4
Here some measured observations of the 2 profiles in question. ---- Rest1200 takes far too long to reach appropriate ET, under developing the roast from the very start, this likely causes the outer layers of seed to over dry and the insides never get done. Eventually the temp picks up, it stalls ou...

Re: Manual roasting using ET only
Back to the washed Ethiopian Guji. Several manual roasts dialling it in, after which I decided to use the information I had to make some guesses and create a profile for it. I wanted a roast around the same time 9:00 as the dark roast so need a more gentle start then carefully ramp up the heat, whic...

More zones ?
Hello Chris, Just wondering what is the maximum number of zones that you could add to the KL studio? Ideally I would like 10 instead of 3 but I will be happy with what ever you can manage. EDIT: After more experimentation i am thinking 5 would be plenty. Or could a separate section be set up specifi...
