Re: Steve's Ultimate Profiles 100g - Constantly Declining Fan Profile (Fan Cal 0.91)
If users do not understand the how and why of the "Power" profiling, probably best to stick to using automatic profiles they are familiar with. This is from the original power profile post.... "This is where I am at....with the caveat that this is for ONE particular green coffee, 2020...

Re: Steve's Ultimate Profiles 100g - Constantly Declining Fan Profile (Fan Cal 0.91)
None of this was invented by me im just following / paraphrasing what others much smarter than me worked out long ago about basic roasting principles. It is the environment ( think oven, hooded BBQ) that the green coffee is exposed to which does the roasting. Simple logic says we better control that...

Re: Steve's Ultimate Profiles 100g - Constantly Declining Fan Profile (Fan Cal 0.91)
Good stuff Steve I see you’ve gone back to a decreasing RoR. Interesting fan profile. Any particular reasoning for the shape, rather than using your constant declining option? Interesting zone 3 doesn’t work, and that was zone I tried and failed, when I should have used zone 2. I wonder if there is...

Re: Steve's Ultimate Profiles 100g - Constantly Declining Fan Profile (Fan Cal 0.91)
I reckon that is about the right med - dark roasts and probably sit on that for some time. Hi Steve I’m wonder how your MD4 is after a few days now for espresso/with milk. And if you have used other beans with the profile with success? Also to anyone else reading this that have tried Steve’s MD4 pr...

Re: Helpdesk Support Required Please - Power Profile Zone Test
Here is a good example of an entire roast running on a power profile up to Starting Second Crack. 2:30 / 2:30 / 3:10 Starting power 1150W The Teflon wrap on my probe has burnt out and needs replacing, which goes to show bean probe readings / pretty profile lines on a screen really do not mean much. ...

Re: Helpdesk Support Required Please - Power Profile Zone Test
No worries. Inspired me to go back and look at some of my old power profiles and try something new based on current thinking and setup. This seemed to work pretty good and its very simple, I think my other PID profiles might be a bit baked compared to fixed power! I forgot how good the fixed power r...

Re: Helpdesk Support Required Please - Power Profile Zone Test
Simple mistake! Good you are trying to understand what is actually going on with power profiles which ARE more important than what the actual roast profile does. This was the whole point of my recent thread, if the power profile / black power line shows large reductions in power or long periods of f...

Re: Steve's Ultimate Profiles 100g - Constantly Declining Fan Profile (Fan Cal 0.91)
Hi Steve I'll give md3 a shake down roast over the weekend. Will use Brazil pulped naturals and Columbian Volcan Galeros to emulate your blend. That was probably bit extreme / quick BUT its pretty good if one likes more of a traditional coffee flavour in a filter or french press style brew. I found...
