Re: Guatemala Jacaltenango

I've not tried this bean ... but I have had good results using the D-Roast profile on a variety of beans.

Re: D-Roast

Looks to me like you're not getting enough power near the end of the roast. The power line is flat from about the 11.45 min mark. Suggest you read the entire thread regarding this profile and the points made about the required power.

Re: Comparison between the core profiles (RTD/Rest)

Interestingly I’ve been watching a few of Tim Wendelboe’s YouTube videos. He now roasts using a Loring … which is closer to a Hot Air Roaster than a Drum roaster. He states that they don’t really think about first crack, DTR or colour change anymore… just concentrate on profile time and end temperat...

Thanks once again for your detailed reply ... checked out a few UPS's ... but a bit too $$$$ to justify further experimentation.

Re: Steve's Ultimate Profiles 100g - Constantly Declining Fan Profile (Fan Cal 0.91)

Thanks for your detailed reply ... much appreciated.
It seems if I wish to continue my experiment with power profile zones I would need to control the supply voltage... having no idea how to accomplish this ... could you recommend a suitable device?

Re: Steve's Ultimate Profiles 100g - Constantly Declining Fan Profile (Fan Cal 0.91)

Continuing to test Steve's Power profile ... here's 2 Klogs with the same Power settings and using 3 power zones using the same beans ... but very different results. I can't figure out why they are so different ... yet have the same settings, Same beans, same size (100g). Both set to finish at 222c....
