Re: Fan profiling

Hi Damien, Thanks for the explanation - especially regarding reducing the crash and flick around first crack. I'm wondering if you can still achieve those effects and then start reducing fan speed around 1 min into first crack? It seems to me that's the point at which a lot of people start running o...

Re: D-Roast

Thanks Damien! Hadn't seen this. Keen to experiment more with these higher fan speeds now.

I'll put further comments / questions on that thread...

Re: D-Roast

Steve and Damien, could you guys comment a bit more on why you've gone for higher fan speeds in your profiles? It would be helpful for me (and maybe others) as we consider messing around with your profiles, lowering fan speeds especially towards the end as the heat climbs higher and the power requir...

maxing out due to fan speed...

Following on from todays discussion on fan speed profile, I thought I'd post a recent roast of El Salvador Bourbon on Steve's Washed All Purpose profile (120g). You can see it flat lines towards the end, with the ROR bottoming out in the last minute. I had 237V, which is low for me, but probably on ...

Effect of 130g load?

Hi Wayne and Chris, Just wondering if you think the strange hump shape in the first minute of this Costa Rica roast on the 1200+ GTTT profile could be due to using 130g? I thought I'd try 130g because it was all I had left in the bag, and thought I may as well see what happens : ) Screen Shot 2020-0...

Hi All, Here's some logs from recent roasts, comparing how particular beans respond to a few of the beta profiles, with a few comparisons to other shared profiles. Re: Comment roast logs - 5 different beans using Steve's 9min profile

Thanks Steve. If I was going to try something to help smooth the bigger swings in ROR mid way through, what would you recommend starting with? Btw, I tried to message you a while ago to ask what of your profiles you recommend now? I noticed that you've got some that you now say are not so good, and ...
