Re: Q: what do I do with these?

This morning I had a strange experience. Day 3 on Wayne's 1200-1500 RTD profile at RL 4.2 with a local supplier's Riviera Blend [God knows what's in it]. Reasonably light tamp [circa 10kg] on 18gm , 30s draw, 40.7gm. Good an earthy sweet but definite strong CINNAMON spice flavour, which has lingered...

Re: Problems with the Kaffelogic Studio Software

@nrdlnd I can't answer for K/Ubuntu. I'm a windows 10 user. On my 3 year old Intel i5 Surface Pro tablet, with MS Edge and Google Chrome open with heaps of pages, it takes all of 5.7 seconds to open Studio v 4.1.2 One thing with Linux users is that you can get away with having much less computing po...

Re: Tipping?

Lancruiser, check out Damian's D-Roast. He says that that is his Go To roast. It's really interesting in just how bloody long it takes. Might cut the mustard! ;)

Re: Q: what do I do with these?

Geez, Angela, I've just got used to the notion that the Sumatran Mendhaling bean is seriously larger than the Mexican Chiapas and now you're querying bean density. Ostensibly, then, roasting levels might be similar between a larger and less dense bean and a smaller but denser bean? Interesting quest...

Re: Few burnt beans and how I fixed it

This is a puzzle, Sareea and thanks for raising it here. It will be interesting to hear what the issue was. While you are waiting for Wayne's reply, I just wonder two things: 1) I see you have updated to the latest firmware. It is possible the file or install was corrupted, maybe? Is it worth reinst...

Re: Ready to Drink profile - results

Thanks for these notes, Daryl Just checking on roast levels and profile. The 1500-2000RTD defaults to RL 3.1 and the K-Logic Classic to RL3.3. Are these what you used? I'm only up to 44 roasts so have a LOT to learn. Doing typically 200gm or 300gm batches of a bean and profile and keeping notes to s...

Brazil Cerrado, so far, working well with DarkSide at RL 4.8. Good rich dark chocolate espresso 18g, 27sec, 42gm - Great work. Thanks Steve.

Re: D-Roast

Really helpful answer, Damian. Thank you. Yesterday, put through 100g Mexican Chiapas FTO, D-Roast - RL3.3. 84g out 19% weight reduction. What amazed me was that this is the longest roast by far at 17'30" from start to finish. Interesting. Long and slow. Med Dark roast. Resting for a few days n...

Re: Q: what do I do with these?

I'm not experienced enough to give you the definitive answer to this, Lancruiser. And it's a good question. I know it's answered in another thread here but I can't quickly locate it. My tuppence worth is that: a) when I have gone for the 120gm, to squeeze in that extra 18gm shot, then i have had mor...

Re: Q: what do I do with these?

Excellent, Wayne! Thank you.
Are these renamed profiles for Altitude 1200 - 1500 & Altitude 1500 - 2000 + [NOW]? The RL are similar. Maybe just wording and descriptor changes? Or have the profiles been adjusted also? Just wondering whether to delete or add to those already downloaded?
