Re: Recording First Crack!

Great idea !
I think running an RTA is good method to measure frequencies of the FC.
I will try it with a calibrated mic

Re: Start of profile - Issue or not?

I just changed my fan calibration and beans are moving a lot better. (now it is 1.01 and I think this is great). Forgot to thank you for posting videos. Awesome. Can you tell me what beans, weight, and profile used. Also how far into the roast were videos taken. Is this the same roast broken into t...

Re: Start of profile - Issue or not?

Hi, I have been facing same issues. Beans weren't moving in a good way, and I had tipping in all the roasts. I have same voltage as you 230. I guess, change in the voltage changes everything, and calibration is key. ( Maybe the lower voltage causes the fan to run slower for the same amount of heat p...

Re: Few burnt beans and how I fixed it

Thank you Steve Hi Geronimo, I am still working it out with Wayne, He suggested to add 3 notchs to the fan caliberation. I guess my roaster is fine, it is a little bit caliberation issue or a really dense bean. Or is it just me not knowing how beans should move, I was getting really burnt beans at t...

Re: Probe smoothing

Did you feel difference in the taste? I guess in order to compare consistency we need to put the roaster in the same environment each time. As it draws the air from beneath ( i guess ), and room temp may affect the heating element function ? Or is it just bean thermodynamics that made the inconsiste...

Re: Tipping?

I dont think this is tipping because it is happening to all the beans in the same location. I experienced that also with the colombia, Once I looked inside the bean I saw that it is has a darker core continuous with the outside “tipping”. Maybe we are really driving it so fast. Ill try what kaffelog...

Re: Few burnt beans and how I fixed it

Thanks beanz for the insight ! I dont think it is a voltage issue because the unit is able to draw 1200~ watts without stalling. I am using an adapter converter (Aus to EU). It may be problematic, I will replace it anyway. I am roasting at 1000m altitude, does that change anything? Regarding the fir...
