Re: Kaffelogic Modding - Clear Lid
So have your clear petri dish 'lids' arrived yet? Share some photos of how it's working for you... :) I've done about 10 roasts over the last few days. It's really been brilliant to have that clear lid while trying to refine my own profiles - especially for logging colour change and trying to nail a...

Re: Kaffelogic Modding - Clear Lid
Mirror There is a small problem when the KL is below the kitchen hood as it's so tall when you use the clear glass lid. It's difficult or almost impossible to watch the roasting chamber. This is easily solved by using a mirror and direct the torch light against the mirror in the same direction as y...

Re: Kaffelogic Modding - Clear Lid
Mostly with milk, but sometimes just as a straight espresso. I did use an extension cord actually - a heavy duty builders one. Had a mains voltage of 237.78w No power issues/flat lining - maintained profile all the way through. That’s fantastic with respect to voltage. Have you tried Damians D-Roas...

Re: Kaffelogic Modding - Clear Lid
Hi Forgot to mention, I watched video thanks. Looks good literally. How far into the roast was this? I think lab supplies are going to get a rush of Petri dish orders from your post. I’ve got a couple of LED Lenser hand/head mounted torchs which are blindingly bright, which would do the job nicely ...

Re: Kaffelogic Modding - Clear Lid
Definitely a "use at your own risk" thing. However borosilicate glass is a very strong glass - which is why it's used in Lab settings. Do a search on it's properties The original PYREX (not the US 'Pyrex') uses borosilicate glass, and can stand extreme temperatures without cracking. Also h...
