Re: Rehydrating beans - any experience?
I roasted rehydrated Nicaragua AAA beans with KL 1200m - 1500m REST profile and RoR was very nice; just the first 50 seconds the actual roasting curve dipped under the profile but then nicely recovered and followed the profile till the end. The beans are resting now - can't wait to try them.

Re: Raost
Hi Mr Bean! Sorry but the "default" roasting level to reach around 20% DTR is around L=3.5. I haven't adjusted that in the profile (I don't know how to do that  ) This means that after my adjustments the profile is "slower". If you want to test the profile set L higher. If...

Re: Raost
What I presented about 7 weeks ago was a very nice roast. I haven't been able to completely replicate this with other beans and I've had to make adjustments to get it "right" again but I have this profile saved so I can go back to it again. What I lately have found out is that it after so...

Re: Ethiopia Sidamo Ardi
With these beans, I would first try MASL profile and roast to 20~25% after first crack - it’s a good reference point to start with. Try lower and higher development levels - you might be surprised by the taste…

Re: LARGE BEANS Profile (AAA, 20 screen size)
So, I’ve tried almost every single KL & forum popular profiles, tried to adjust fan speed but it looks like KL can’t handle these large beans: they won’t move at all for the first 3 minutes then barely move. I’ve reduced batch size down to 50gr but still no good results. Over 2kg of roasting, a ...

Re: Honduras La Flor - Medium Roast
Hi, I'm fairly new to this but find it increasingly interesting! After few attempts roasting different beans with the official profiles, I have started wondering what would be the upsides in developing my own (based on research and existing profiles). After a few trials and sitting in front of the ...

Re: LARGE BEANS Profile (AAA, 20 screen size)
Hey! You could try this profile I came up with a couple of days ago. It's meant for 60 grams and it's been working quite well. It's a "mini version" of the D-Raost profile. Mini D-Raost.kpro minidraost.png Let us know how it goes! Hi @benjaminfleon, Thank you for the min profile. I've roa...

Re: LARGE BEANS Profile (AAA, 20 screen size)
I am just throwing around suggestions here..... no information or experience to back it up- just guesswork. You could pull the batch size down to say 70 gms? - I think i have read in this forum somewhere that trials of down to 60 gms seem to still allow profile following????? Will try and let know ...

Re: Raost
Hi The Bean, Damians D-profiles are very good but require a high voltage supply. I have tried the D-Light with good results when Iv'e had enough voltage even if it has been near the limits but some times not and with lesser result. I think the D-Raost is built on the D-profiles. I’ve tried D-Roast,...

Re: D-Roast
Hi @Damian, I love your roast - great job! Recently I moved place the voltage here is on a lower end I get and error message “the voltage might be too low” and the recent roast took close to 30 mins (might be contributed by the lower ambient temperature of 15C). I don’t have enough experience in the...
