Re: BOOST Package
Perhaps, it's a "nice to have" feature rather than "must to have". You can roast multiple batches today with very consistent results: it just takes around 10mins to roast a batch so going 200g is not a huge time saving feature. I rather get more bean specific roast profiles and m...

Re: LARGE BEANS Profile (AAA, 20 screen size)
Hi @nrdlnd D-roast didn't work for me because of 240v requirement and I couldn't reduce fan speed to compensate on it. The beans I had were between 1.5g and 2g each - large and heavy, so reduced weight and increased fan speed worked quite well.

Re: Rehydrating beans - any experience?
its been pretty hot and humid in Sydney recently and Ive seen some variances in my standard roasts from a taste perspective. perhaps related? It's a pity that you couldn't measure the moisture of the beans or maybe it's just the higher humidity of the air that affects the result? A more humid air i...

Re: Rehydrating beans - any experience?
Interesting. I don't have a meter but had similar suspicions - thank you for confirming it!

Re: LARGE BEANS Profile (AAA, 20 screen size)
At the end, I've reduced batch size to 80g and increased fan speed profile in individual roasting profiles.

Re: Rehydrating beans - any experience?
@nrdlnd Agree, roast levels is another debateable topic however what I was suggesting is to set an approximate level relative to DTR so at least the bulk part will be right instead of, for example, having 20% DTR at level 1 when you can't go any lower if you wish to. We always can perfect and compli...

Re: Rehydrating beans - any experience?
@nrdlnd Hi, it should be relatively easy to set the levels: you can set Level 3 @ 30% DTR temperature and then extrapulate rest of the values. (tip: when you're changing target level at the front page, it is adjusting DTR % and temperature on the right and allows you to correlate final roast level, ...

Re: Rehydrating beans - any experience?
Hi @nrdlnd, you can adjust "roast level" at the Profile Settings - it's at the very bottom. KL suggests to maintain the logic behind these levels so you always know that 3 is a medium roast, etc. It also avoids confusion between roast profiles and need to remember what level means in each ...

Re: Rehydrating beans - any experience?
Instead of increasing the fan speed, I reduce beans from 100g to 80g and it does the job.
I tested rehydrated roasted beans on day 5 and the flavour developed into more sour-winy notes, quite different from non-rehydrated beans.

Re: Rehydrating beans - any experience?
I don't have a moisture meter so had to try "blind" by adding 4g of water to 96g of beans and keeping them in closed glass jar for 9 hours. Roasted them on the same profile as non rehydrated beans. Today I tasted the beans: it had some minor change in flavour but not huge. Perhaps these be...
