Re: HELP Voltage / kW / ROR all over the place

Have you noticed at times 2:35 and 8:50 there are kinks in the profile curve that you are asking the controller to follow? There may be others. Is this confusing the software?

How does it do on more normal profiles?

Re: Ninja 2nd in Golden Bean comp

Mark, excellent news. Well done.

I've persuaded 'Polly' to post the good news to a UK forum. A little proselytising won't go amiss if it brings in new users.

Purple Haze?

(Apologies to The Jimi Hendrix Experience.) I tried Ben's Brazil profile today and noticed strange colours from my LCD. The photo doesn't reproduce the purple colour too well but that yellow is not a reflection from anywhere. Screenshot from 2019-11-21 13-34-10.png After cool down the screen had mai...

Re: Watchdog error

Ah! The mist clears. Here was me thinking you'd found some rather whizzy way of telling me my doorbell battery needed replacing. :)

Watch out for function-creep though.

Battery symbol?

There's a symbol for a battery that appears, display right, during the cool down phase with 7.3.9. Odd?

Re: Measuring your MET on Nano 7 and its impact on roast quality

Sam, if you've done a lot of drum roasting I can see your need for parallels. The problem is there probably isn't that much that is comparable. The beans rotate bottom to top to bottom with a period of a few seconds all beans will go through any hotspot fairly uniformly. I suspect if you scrutinize ...

Re: Measuring your MET on Nano 7 and its impact on roast quality

Sam, a few of observations. 1. The roasts I've been getting are pretty even by colour. And colour is a good indication of roast temperature. Of course there will be hotspots but the beans are flowing so they will move in and out of any hot areas - averaging over time. Even coloured beans suggest eve...

Re: New user looking for a Latte Profile

Hi Mark, My experience of latte is that the milk masks the taste from the coffee so you need quite a strong roast. I would experiment with the Steady and Dark profile and any old South America bean would do. You'll be roasting to get chocolate and caramel flavours which most beans will give you at h...

Re: Yifacheffe, Yirgacheffe; where art thou?

Screenshot from 2019-09-28 12-28-07.png I roasted this on 19th September and is was nothing special a day or two after. I put it down as just another dud also ran. Today, 9 days later, I used 18g in an espresso machine. The floral/fruity smell from the ground beans in the portafilter gave me a clue...
