Re: Boost kit for Smaller batch size of 50 grs?

110v Kaffelogic with boost kit + glass chamber: I’ve not been able to successfully roast any bean at 50 gram batch weight. Heating stops midway into the roast, before the beans can even reach first crack (temp doesn’t go past 180-200C). And, with 60 & 70 gram batches, similar results. I’ve recon...

Roasting from cold/hot start?

The recommendation is to leave your roaster on, when doing more than one roast session. And if you do turn it off, leave it off for a couple of hours before doing another roast. Re: Science!? fresh roast and when to seal?

For now, until I know better ;) , I’m putting the fresh roast in a recycled coffee bean bag (one with an intact one-way valve); once the beans have rested I’ll transfer them to an Airscape. My assumption is that we want don’t want to trap the fresh gasses in a completely airtight container for the f...

Science!? fresh roast and when to seal?

Is it better to store the just roasted beans in an Airscape container right away (just as soon as they have cooled), or to let the them rest in an open container for 12 (24?) hours before sealing in an Airscape? I’ll be resting them in the Airscape for a week or so, but it’s the first number of hour...
