Classic profile roasting too fast

#3435

Post by jramey0406 »

I’m new to the Nano and only have about 8 roasts under my belt. I purchased this roaster with the expectation that I can use the default profiles and get good coffee. I will learn to tweak eventually but expect to be able to use the packaged profiles as is and get good results without changing anything. So far that has not been my experience. Most of my roasts have been in the Classic profile so I can get familiar with the system. Every roast goes way too fast and overshoots every time. I have used 5 different beans and all seem to run away. I have boost but doing 100g loads for now. I am hitting FC in the 4-5 minute mark while the profile is around 6 minutes. Color change is also very fast. I have checked fan calibration. What advice can I get on this? Should I remove Boost and try?

Classic profile is quite bad at doing this with certain beans. Many people try other profiles, e.g. others in the core profile set, as a way around. However, we are releasing firmware with a re-tuned roast control system that overcomes this problem with the Classic profile. This will be released on 28 Aug 2024. Be sure to grab the update when it comes.
