rescuing surface area of mesh affects to the air flow?
The tube's inside diameter = 70mm, therefore the cross-section area = 2848mm2 (pi r^2)
The circumference of the tube at the ID = 220mm (pi d)
To calculate the vertical height required for the same surface area as the tube opening, we divide the tubes open area by the circumference 2848/220 = 13mm, this is the minimum hight the lid can sit above the tube without restricting flow.
Similarly, the screened area can fill with chaff up to an average of 13mm from the top without restricting airflow.
Hey Damian,
Inspired by your mod (your post on the Decent forum actually made me want to buy a Nano in the first place) I am just planning my own mod of the roasting „chamber“.
I‘m a little confused by your calculation, though.
I keep ending up with a cross section area of 3848 mm2, no matter in which order I‘m putting the numbers into my calculator.
Very impressive solutions you guys have come up with.
For those like me who aren't as adventurous, you can use a $5 borosilicate glass petri dish (100mm) as the lid, and you're done. Some pictures in the link to my post.
