Studio 4.1.0 and Firmware 7.4.5 release candidates now in beta
We are rolling out three new features and this involves a new version of both Studio and the roaster firmware. In order to access all of the new features you will need to update both, although you can update just one if you prefer.
New features
Extended cooldown: requires the firmware update
Power profiling: requires both Studio and firmware updates to function as intended
Third zone: requires both Studio and firmware updates to utilise three zones
In addition Studio 4.1.0 has some minor user interface performance improvements particularly comparing multiple files is a little easier, and level descriptions (e.g. "med-light") appear beside the 'recommended level' control. There are also some specific Sonofresco-mode improvements.
A bug has been reported. Version 4.1.0 is not saving the recommended level as part of the profile. It's not a big problem - it just means you need to set the level manually after loading the profile. However, it has been fixed in version 4.1.1.
If you have already installed v4.1.0 please update to v4.1.1 from our beta site.
Thanks for taking the trouble to be a beta tester.
We now have a Linux package build toolchain that allows us to distribute Kaffelogic Studio as pre-built packages that can be installed with just a double-click. This makes it much easier for a Linux user to get started with Studio.
If you have been using Kaffelogic Studio on Linux please test out the latest package available from our beta site. If it works you can delete all the files you have downloaded earlier. The package installs to /opt/kaffelogic-studio and does not depend on any files in your user folders.
The Linux package toolchain has been used for the first time in beta v4.1.1.
Studio 4.1.2 is now available from the beta pages. A number of irritating bugs have emerged and been fixed in this release. It is now looking pretty stable, so it would be good if beta testers could update to this version for a final test prior to general release.
