I started roasting at night on the deck and was getting uneven roasts. Logs showed 239v available, but it was when I checked the technical info on the roaster display it said only 175v available from outdoor outlet - clearly need a sparky to look at that

Today, took it down to my shed, and roaster reported 246v available. Did a batch and it was perfect, fan sounded good again.

Important note to check the technical info, and not the roast log. Maybe it shows up to the more initiated in other ways, but I was never flatlining so I’m unsure how else it would present as an issue in a roast log. The unevenness seemed to be coming from slower agitation of the beans at the start of the roast - some would barely move. Roasts tasted baked - that’s how I knew something was up, as that had not been my experience through the day with deck lights off.

Anyway, good to know it’s not the roaster itself, or that I need to tinker with fan calibration. The shed is where I was roasting previously, so no dramas - just no sneaky morning roasts

Late to this party, but that is super interesting. Mine refuses to start if the voltage is below 220V (which being in Europe, has been surprisingly often).
As a result, I've made a number of profiles which sacrifice ~10% of fan speed to focus on keeping the heat high enough (which work out OK)

I'm late too, but worth noting that the current firmware detects mains voltage before the fan starts and this is what gets written to the log. While the fan is running the roaster will report an incorrect mains voltage. As far as the roaster is concerned mains voltage is used only for a pre-roast check, and not for monitoring voltage during the roast. Long story short, don't use the technical info for checking mains voltage while the roaster is running. The log contains the correct voltage.
