Re: Cool down cycle improvements
Hi Chris, I've just gone to download this and see there's a 7.4.4 there too. Should I use that or stick to 7.4.3 per your post?

Re: Steady and Dark
I concur, this was a good roast @ 4.8 for espresso! I used Guatemalan beans and they tasted awesome! Thanks for this

Re: Decaf profile
I've had great success with 120g of decaf beans roasted on both Default and Firestarter to level 4.2 Someone told me you have to roast decaf much darker than normal and I'd agree. Both these roasts tasted great through the espresso machine. The Firestarter roast we drank immediately, it was pretty g...

Re: Where to start?
Have you tried this for static? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0Dh1W40ILY I'm not convinced this problem is static or channelling though. My suspicion is that it's something to do with the roasting of certain beans. It's all I can come back to as it has only happened to 3 varieties of beans. The o...

Re: Modified Firestarter
I'm keen to try this profile. Do you guys think this profile does a better job than the default Kaffelogic one for espresso? If so, what roast level have you found to give the best result? Any bean recommendation?

Re: Where to start?
I'm wondering if bean density is the issue...

Re: Where to start?
Hmmm, after a few weeks of great espresso roasted at 3.6 that grinds nearly exactly like commercially roasted beans do I decided to splash out and buy 3kg of Guatemala (albeit a different variety than I have been using). I tried my first roast of the new batch today and it's acting like the Colombia...

Re: Where to start?
Yes it did make a bit of a difference but it didn't taste very nice. I think it was just the Colombia beans. I noticed they're physically slightly bigger than others, maybe that had something to do with it. I've since had Yirgacheffe, Carrado and Guatamalan and roasted them all individually on the 3...
