Re: Help a newbie read a log
I know from the early KL videos an adjustment can be made in Studio to lower the heat/modify fan at that point in the profile. I have yet to play with adjusting profiles in Studio, beyond colour levels … yes, my sheepish confession… I’m too inexperienced & cautious by far! So, I hope someone her...

Re: Boost kit for Smaller batch size of 50 grs?
Using 80 grams of beans, so probe is covered, might be safer… it is then easier to see the fan calibration speed matches the bean weight correctly. That said, I have gotten pretty good at adjusting fan calibration for a 50 gram weight… sometimes I have to adjust fan setting on the display (speed it ...

Re: Fan profiling: how do you do it?
Good points to raise… helps especially those of us who are new to roasting have a guideline & better understanding. Hope we see some discussion & further illumination here!

Re: Possibility of paying for Extended Warranty
I am in much the same boat as you…. my warranty will soon expire. An extended warranty would be great for peace-of-mind.
I have done only 130 roasts to date, so fear I’ll end up with trouble later in the year, when I’ve had time to put more batches through.

Temperature variations in log vs profile
How significant is a 2 or 3 degree temperature variance when comparing log results to the original profile? Will there be a noticeable change in the roast taste if I bump up those sections of the log where the temp runs a couple of degrees below/cooler than what the profile line indicates?

Re: View more than one open window in Studio
This is incredibly helpful, thank you!
I had no idea there was an “app” specific window option, in addition to the usual “new window” under the File menu.

View more than one open window in Studio
Is there a way to have multiple windows open in Studio, one for each profile?
I'd like to view several profiles & their details simultaneously.
I realize there is a "compare file" feature, but that is much more limiting.
I am running Studio on Mac OS 10.15.7

Re: Boost kit for Smaller batch size of 50 grs?
What is a “thermal runaway error”? Is it the same thing as the “heat too fast, please check beans” error message? Interestingly enough, in most trials, I don’t get any error message. The roast can continue along as if all is well, & right to the end as per profile; but there is no heating going ...
