agitation speed for small batch sizes
How do you determine the correct speed of bean movement during fan preview when you are roasting a much smaller batch of beans (50 or 60 grams)? The roaster is initially calibrated for 120 grams, but the resulting fan speed will cause a 50 gram batch to agitate very differently than a 120 gram batch...

Re: MacBook compatibility with Kaffelogic Studio?
That’s good to know, thanks.
I’m leaning towards purchasing either the M2 or M3 version. If your M1 works, I suspect the M2 & M3 would as well.

MacBook compatibility with Kaffelogic Studio?
Does anyone know if the newer Macbook’s are compatible with Kaffelogic Studio software? I don’t want to buy it if it won’t work with the Kaffelogic roaster!

Re: Help a newbie read a log
I know from the early KL videos an adjustment can be made in Studio to lower the heat/modify fan at that point in the profile. I have yet to play with adjusting profiles in Studio, beyond colour levels … yes, my sheepish confession… I’m too inexperienced & cautious by far! So, I hope someone her...

Re: Boost kit for Smaller batch size of 50 grs?
Using 80 grams of beans, so probe is covered, might be safer… it is then easier to see the fan calibration speed matches the bean weight correctly. That said, I have gotten pretty good at adjusting fan calibration for a 50 gram weight… sometimes I have to adjust fan setting on the display (speed it ...

Good points to raise… helps especially those of us who are new to roasting have a guideline & better understanding. Hope we see some discussion & further illumination here!

Re: Possibility of paying for Extended Warranty
I am in much the same boat as you…. my warranty will soon expire. An extended warranty would be great for peace-of-mind.
I have done only 130 roasts to date, so fear I’ll end up with trouble later in the year, when I’ve had time to put more batches through.
