Voltage may be too low message?

#137

Post by johnnyfive »

Hi there. I've used my roaster about 5 or 6 times since receiving it in April with excellent results. The last two times I've been getting a low voltage message, but the roaster operates as normal. I have attached a photo of the message and my roast logs. Also, it's been plugged into the same power point since the start. I did only notice this message come up after I installed the latest firmware. Not sure if I need to stop using the unit and get it checked out or get a sparky to check my home's wiring?

Anyone else having this issue?

Cheers!

Thanks for posting logs and photo. While 233V is a little under par, it's plenty for roasting as it provides about 1340W. Running the Firestarter profile your roaster is pulling no more than 1160W. Plenty of headroom there. The trouble is in the profile itself where there is a setting of 1350W for "roast required power". This tells the roaster what is basically a lie: that it will use up to 1350W while running this profile. So you can ignore the message safe in the knowledge that the roaster needs no more than about 1200W tops, or you can change the "roast required power" setting in the profile to 1200 before saving it to your memory stick.
