Re: Hawkesbury Blend 2

Hi Jim,
I would suggest trying the D Roast profile that has been posted on the forum if you have the voltage for it

Re: Hawkesbury Blend 2

Hi Jim
Have you been blending the beans pre or post roast? You could try using the appropriate altitude profile for each of the beans separately and then blend them post roast.

Re: photos of different roast levels for comparison?

Hi, I’m more of a light to medium/light roast drinker so I normally don’t roast much beyond level 2.5, so mine won’t be a direct comparison. I do typically find the colour on my beans to be much more even than your photos however. I guess another possibility is that your beans from Vietnam are diffe...

Re: photos of different roast levels for comparison?

Thanks. I can’t view the logs right now, as I’m not with my computer, but my best guess is you might have an issue with your fan calibration. Some of those beans don’t look like they’ve made it to first crack and others do. It’s an easy fix - have a look in the manual and there is a section on check...

Re: Vietnam: which profile

It very much depends on the beans and your taste preferences. I would try 100g of both and see what you prefer the taste of :)

Re: photos of different roast levels for comparison?

I haven’t used beans from Vietnam before, but they look a lot lighter than I would expect for the roast levels you used. Something doesn’t seem quite right. Did you note the timing and temperature of first crack?

Re: Minimum operating temperature!!

Yes it does. The roaster can only raise the intake air temperature by so much, so this limit has been set to ensure it can get to roasting temperature. You might want to consider using an air purifier when roasting indoors. Do you have any suggestions as to air purifiers that work well with the kaf...

Re: Brazil Red Honey - Phase Development Profile

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for posting your process for this coffee. It is really interesting to see how you approach making adjustments to your profile for a particular bean and get an idea of the thinking behind it.

Cheers,

Matt

Re: New feature requested: button lock

I have never had any issues with pressing buttons on the roaster when unloading a completed roast. Personally I think the button lock is unnecessary.
